About the Author
Jennifer Gomes is a mom of two children, wife, English teacher and canning enthusiast. She helped her mom and grandmother can as a kid on her family’s ranch, and then taught herself as an adult when she was pregnant with her first child.
For Jenny, canning is THE way to make feeding her family healthy, unprocessed foods both fast and delicious. She loves teaching beginners how easy it is, and if she had to can one thing for the rest of her life, it would be tomato sauce.
Jenny is also a blogger whose site, The Domestic Wildflower provides ‘Handmade Food and Craft Education’ for anyone interested in enjoying a more “hands-on” approach to the good things in life. Besides canning and preserving, she offers online courses in “Wildflower Mixology” (with a Smashbook about it on the way), and a “Crochet Basket Workshop.” You’ll also find on her blog smart, fun and highly educational posts about Sewing (“Scoopneck Knit Tank: A Beginner Sewing Project”), Cooking (“Lilac Syrup: A Simple Syrup for Floral Flavor”) and Crocheting (“How to Crochet a Thick & Thin Wool Throw Blanket”), as well as on topics like living a life of self-authorship and creativity.
